Tall Parents: Here are the Best Strollers For You
There are advantages to being tall and I have enjoyed them right from my teen years. I was good at sports and the extra few inches did give me an advantage every once in a while. For many, there is also the added confidence boost in general that comes naturally from standing head and shoulders above everybody in a crowd. However, all my sense of pride went out the door when I tried using a regular stroller for the first time, which was definitely not meant for “vertically gifted” people like me! I kept kicking the rear axle in spite of my best attempts and the constant hunch often gave me a cramp on my lower back.

I decided to do some research in order to find out the best baby strollers for tall parents. As it turns out, manufacturers do have products that are made with tall parents in mind; it’s just that you have to do some research to know that they exist. The first and foremost specification that you must check for, before you buy a stroller is the height of the handle bars. It would be superb if the handle bars are adjustable as well because that would make it particularly useable for both the parents, if they have a significant height difference between them.
Before you start looking for the best stroller for tall parents, you should first decide what kind of a stroller you need. Do you jog often? If you do, then you will need to look for the best jogging stroller for tall parents, as not all jogging strollers have tall handle bars.
If you have twins or even two kids who are close to each other in age, you would be best off with a double stroller. Or, if you live in the city and lead a busy life, go for a lightweight umbrella stroller to make climbing stairs and navigating subways much easier.
Once you have decided what type of a stroller you need, choose from this list of best strollers for tall parents which will keep your back from cramping and make the strolls with your children a pleasure; just like it’s supposed to be.

Best Umbrella Stroller for Tall Parents
The fact that it is super versatile, has extendable handle bars and weighs 26 pounds is enough to earn the Britax B-Ready Stroller a spot in this list. The Maclaren Techno XLR is also definitely one to look out for if you’re looking for a fairly lightweight umbrella stroller for tall parents.
Britax B-Ready Stroller
This 26lb Britax B-Ready stroller is a great option for tall parents thanks to its adjustable handle bar. The adjustable handle bar can be adjusted from 33 inches to a maximum height of 44 inches. This umbrella stroller is suitable for use with children at least 6 months old and has a weight capacity of up to 55lbs. In addition, if you’d like to use this stroller for a newborn, you’ll be glad to know that it is compatible with an infant car seat and a bassinet. What’s also nice is that you could potentially purchase a second seat which will work with the stroller’s frame whenever your second child arrives. All in all, this is one of the best umbrella stroller for tall parents.
Maclaren Techno XLR Stroller
The Techno XLR is an umbrella stroller with extendable handles, but strangely enough, the height measurement of the handle bars are not mentioned anywhere. Because of this unique feature in single, non-jogging strollers, I consider this to be one of the best umbrella stroller for tall parents. This tall umbrella stroller can carry a maximum weight of 55lbs and weighs in at an astonishing 15.8lbs only. Besides, because of its weight, I consider this to be the best lightweight stroller for tall parents. It has a wider, more comfortable recliner (4-positions) seat along with an extendable leg rest. The seat can also act as a flat pram for newborns.
Best Jogging Stroller for Tall Parents
Although the BOB 2016 Revolution Pro is also an excellent jogging stroller, the Mountain Buggy Terrain has an edge over it due to its lighter weight, which can be a blessing at times.
Mountain Buggy Terrain Jogging Stroller
The Terrain is a superb all-terrain stroller that’s designed for the adventurous and of course, tall parents in mind. The all-terrain stroller can carry up to a whopping 55lbs inside its 28.4 pound build. You will love the fact that the handle bar can go as high as 48.6-inches for us tall folks, while also being able to come down to a height of only 36.4-inches. One of the most robustly built, best jogging strollers for tall parents, the Buggy Terrain boasts of rear drum brakes, 16-inch air-filled back wheels and a 12-inch lockable front wheel for precision maneuverability. It’s easy to fold and there are ample storage options while adventuring with your baby. You can check it out to see why many think that this stroller is a great option for tall parents.
BOB Revolution PRO Stroller
BOB 2016 Revolution Pro is arguably the best jogging stroller for tall parents. There are nine adjustable positions for the cushioned handle bar, starting from 34.5-inches at the lowest setting and towering at 48-inches on setting it at the top most position. The wide range of handle bar arrangements will cater to parents of all heights, thus solving the problem altogether. This stroller with extendable handles is also an all-terrain stroller with hand-brakes (rear drum brakes), 16” × 1.75” rear wheels and a lockable 12.5” × 1.75” front wheel for stability while strolling over rough terrain or jogging. The Revolution Pro weighs in at 30.5lbs and can carry up to 75lbs total, meaning that the collective weight of everything that you put into the stroller, including your child, should never exceed 75lbs.
Bumbleride Speed Jogging Stroller
Speed from Bumbleride is another excellent jogging stroller that’s perfect for using while you go for a jog with your little one. The adjustable handle bars can be raised up to 46-inches (starts at 35-inches) and the entire stroller weighs only 24lbs, making it a contender for the best lightweight jogging stroller for tall parents. In spite of its relatively lightweight, I was surprised to know that this little beauty can carry even older kids of up to 65lbs without breaking a sweat! Of course, that’s the maximum capacity of the stroller, which includes everything that’s on it, but it still beats many others in at least this department.
Best Double Stroller for Tall Parents
It was a close battle between the Stroller Strides Duallie and the Revolution Flex Duallie due to almost identical specs, but I believe the Revolution Flex Duallie is a time-tested product that you enjoy having. I’ve personally high recommend the Revolution Flex Duallie as I’ve tested it and it works great for both the outdoors and for everyday use.

BOB Revolution FLEX Duallie Stroller
If you are looking for the best double stroller for tall parents, have a look at the Revolution Flex Duallie before anything. It is a double jogging stroller that works well for everyday uses as well. It weighs 33.1lbs and can comfortably carry up to 50lbs on each of its two seats (the maximum weight capacity is 100lbs and it includes the weight of everything that you are carrying in the stroller’s storage as well). You will love the adjustable nine-position handle bar which can be raised as high as 50.5-inches and lowered to a minimum of 33.5-inches; making issues like hunching over non-existent for tall parents. The Revolution Flex is also an all-terrain double stroller, thanks to its high impact, air-filled polymer tires, adjustable knobs for shock release, coil spring and shock absorbing elastomer core.
BOB Strides Duallie Fitness Stroller
The adjustable height of the handle bars on the Strides Duallie stroller ranges from 33.5-inches to 50.5-inches. The side-by-side double is another excellent jogging stroller from BOB that’s built for fitness enthusiasts. It weighs 33.1lbs and can carry a total of 100lbs in baby weight and luggage weight combined. It offers the same nine-position 180-degree adjustment on its padded handle bars as we have come to expect from BOB and is made up of sturdy aluminum alloy. All the three tires are pneumatic, complete with tubes Schrader valve.
Best Lightweight Stroller for Tall Parents
Again, the Maclaren Techno XLR comes close, weighing in at 16.3 pounds, a tad heavier than what I’d consider lightweight (15 pounds).
In addition, the ZOE XL2 BEST double is indeed the best lightweight stroller on this list because it weighs less than a single stroller (in most cases) and can yet carry around a 100 pounds with ease.
ZOE XL2 Double Stroller
The ZOE XL2 is light as feather (figuratively of course!) at just 16lbs. It can still carry up to 50lbs on each seat, has front wheel suspension, rear wheel foot brakes and is very easy to fold. The reason why I would recommend this to people above six-feet is because ZOE designed this particularly with tall people in mind. The height of the handle bars isn’t really that impressive at 40.5-inches, but they have added a recessed rear axle to provide that extra “kickspace” for tall parents. This of course makes the ZOE XL2 one of the best lightweight double strollers for tall parents.
All the strollers here are the best strollers for tall parents and you will probably never go wrong with any one of them. Just make sure that you select the right type that’s suited to your needs.
