For those of you who are frequent travelers or prefer to travel light, the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller is in my opinion, one of the best lightweight umbrella strollers out there. Not only does it weigh only 13 pounds, but it also comes with a compact travel bag with exposed handle and a shoulder strap, making it extremely convenient to carry the stroller around. When folded, the stroller is extremely compact, measuring only 20” x 12” x 22”. The Mountain Buggy Nano stroller, which is rated for a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds is also a winner of the Red Dot Design Award in 2015, for its innovative and high design quality. This stroller is definitely one of my favorite strollers around just because it offers a ton of unique features, all at a reasonable price. Let’s take a deeper look at all the features that this stroller stand out!

Note: The new 2016 model has some new features including a deeper recline, a greater canopy coverage, new wheel design and sun mesh extension with a fabric overlay.

Features and Pros

First Class Travel Stroller. Arguably the most outstanding feature of the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller is that it is definitely a 1st class travel stroller. Not only is it lightweight (13 pounds), but its folded dimensions are only 20” x 12” x 22”. What I really like is that this compact sized stroller fits in an included satchel which has a shoulder strap for easy carry around. What’s cool is that this stroller is designed to meet the regulations for airline carryon luggage!

Canopy Coverage. This stroller has a decently sized sun canopy with a flip out sun visor to protect your child from extreme sunlight. Not the biggest coverage around, but it’ll do a decent job.

Built with Comfort in Mind. This stroller comes equipped with a 2 position seat recline with a ventilation panel to ensure the rider’s comfort. In addition, this stroller features a leg rest that is adjustable – another feature to ensure comfort.

Multi Height Padded Safety Harness. The noteworthy thing about this stroller’s harness is that it requires a two-step unlocking process which makes it harder for your child to “break free.”

Simple Two Step Folding Process. This stroller folds really easily in a two-step process. First, position the sunhood behind, then grip the middle frame. Next, fold the stroller down and the frame locks automatically!

One Handed Unfolding. Not only does the stroller fold easily, it unfolds just as easily, if not easier. The unfolding process requires only one hand, which makes it even super convenient.

Great Built In Travel System. The Mountain Buggy Nano stroller is equipped with a unique on-board car seat adapter which easily converts to a travel system. It is compatible with any infant car seat with the belt-style adaptors.

Lockable Front Wheels. The stroller comes with 6-inch EVA wheels which provide a smooth ride and ensures great maneuverability. The front wheels do swivel, which makes it turn more easily on flat surfaces. The front wheels can also be locked in a straight position for strolling on uneven or rougher surfaces.

Rear Wheel Suspension. This lightweight stroller has a built in rear wheel suspension which acts as a shock absorber on uneven surfaces. I find that wheels with suspensions definitely make a significant difference in how bumpy the ride in the stroller feels as well as how comfortable it is for the rider.

Compliant with Many Safety Standards. Safety on a stroller is a major concern for many parents like myself. While checking out the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller, I noted that the stroller is compliant with many stroller safety standards, including those in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Decent Size Storage Space. This stroller comes with a small, but decent sized storage basket located beneath the stroller seat. The storage basket is easily accessible from the front of the stroller.

Cons

I absolutely love the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller for its innovative and lightweight design. However, it does have some things which I thought could be better.

Relatively Small Canopy. I would have liked to see a larger, adjustable canopy to provide maximum sun protection. From my experience, the canopy on this stroller works really well only when the seat is reclined.

Somewhat Short Handle. The handlebar height on this stroller is 38.5 inches, or about 3 feet tall. For taller parents, this can feel somewhat short.

Other Noteworthy Points

The Mountain Buggy Nano stroller comes in a few different colors:

For an affordable price, you can get this awesome stroller, which also happens to be one of my favorites, especially when I’m travelling.

I hold an extremely high regard for the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller as it is small in size, yet big in terms of the features it offers. For those of you who frequently travel, you really can’t go wrong with this stroller. For everyday use, this stroller also performs well thanks to its ultralight weight and its 6-inch wheels which provide great maneuverability. Hands down the two features that make the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller stand out are its infant car seat ready feature as well as its airline carryon capability. In short, you should definitely check out the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller if you’re particularly shopping for a lightweight stroller that you can use for family travels. There is no doubt that the Mountain Buggy Nano stroller is one the best lightweight strollers out there which comes with features that make it extremely easy to travel with. This stroller which weighs only 13 pounds is highly rated among many parents.
